I’ll admit I’m usually a DIY cake lady – and there’s a 50/50 chance it’s a box mix! I strongly believe in adding my own bit of love (and also the idea that people can’t say they don’t like it if it’s something you made yourself lol). BUT when I want to do something special and has that extra little oomph! I know where to turn for a cake: The Midnight Baker Mom!

Tiffany is a SAHM to her two kids by day (okay and night too), and home baker by night! With her hobby turned business, she creates one of a kind cakes for any occasion. And here I thought I was just meeting a new neighbor after our family moved to Culpeper! Our previous home was a standalone on a busy road, so I was in heaven moving into a large neighborhood with a baby who loved going on stroller walks. While we were out on a walk one day we happened to bump into Tiffany and some of her family on their own stroller walk, where in true mom-to-mom fashion we quickly exchanged phone numbers. When we met up on a walk a few days later and were going through the list of “get to know you” questions she told me about her business!

When we found out we were expecting Baby #2, The Midnight Baker Mom was on my mind for weeks before we got that envelope with a little slip of paper telling us the gender. Without much help from me beyond “Jon is a chocoholic and I just don’t want to bite into a mountain of sprinkles” she created the most beautiful gender reveal cake for us to sit in our backyard on a picnic blanket with Layla and see what the future held for us. Our super moist chocolate cake had a strawberry cake core that was fresh, delicious, and pink!! And when I tell you that thing was good, THAT THING WAS GOOD! I’m not ashamed to say Jon and I ate the entire cake within 24 hours!

I knew I wanted something special for Jon’s 30th birthday, and to go with our idea of Dirty 30/Older than Dirt, Tiffany made us an amazing Dirt Cup-Cake! With chocolate cookies and cream cake layers and chocolate frosting she went the whole nine yards with this cake – adding an Oreo dirt topping, chocolate ganache drip and of course gummy worms! Now the cake may have been short a couple gummy worms by the time Jon actually blew out the candles (hmm where’s Layla?) but once we cut into the cake the entire thing was gone immediately! Also I think this cake will be a repeat offender in our house because at least one or two more family members already said they want one for their birthday too!!

If you check out her website, you’ll see that The Midnight Baker Mom makes cakes and cupcakes for birthdays, weddings (check out her fun grooms cakes), holidays and all other occasions. Or shoot maybe just because you want to eat cake…I’m not judging! But be warned now that you can’t have just one bite:
