Dear Mom,
Keep Moving. Some days it’s that simple. Some days it feels like it’s all you can do. But make sure you do.
Someone looked at me in passing with my two little shadows and all she said was “I remember this, keep moving” with a mist of nostalgia behind her eyes. And to be honest, she had no idea how badly I needed to hear those words in that moment. So, to whoever needs to hear this message too:
Keep Moving.
Keep moving on the good days.
Keep moving on the hard days, tired days, days when the minutes feel like hours and you don’t feel like it.
Make time to move your body, keep moving in the sunshine, under the clouds, or when it’s cold out.
Keep moving even when you’re doubting if you can keep up.
Keep moving when your babies ask you to go with them (even though you’ve already gone 1,000 times together).
Keep moving when the sun goes down and it’s quiet, when the rest of the world is sleeping but you’re still tucking little ones into bed.
Keep moving into the arms of your partner. Whether it’s because you need them or they need you or just because.
Just keep moving.
It doesn’t have to be leaps and bounds every day, some days it might feel like a snail pace, but moving through parenthood is no one’s race! Keep moving, Mama. And know I’ll keep moving with you!
